quality of JDM used cars are of very high standards due
to strict automotive policies in effect. Japanese roads
are good and their speed limits are low. Average kilometers
driven is a fraction compared to North American drivers.
This may be due to difference in life style, much smaller
cities and very expensive toll routes to travel away from
city. This makes Japanese high tech transit service a
better choice.
Maintenance & Inspection Policy: All registered
cars are required to undergo annual inspection. Cars are
inspected with strict guidelines and required maintenance
work must be completed in order to renew registration.
Cars not being able to pass inspection generally do not
meet the standards required to be sold at auction with
good grades, and are often sold through dealers who bypass
the auction system mainly for export. Beware if its too
good to be true then it is!
